Dunboyne College of Further Education is committed to providing the best possible learning environment in relation to students with special education needs and disabilities. Dunboyne College welcomes applications from students with special needs and makes provision wherever possible to facilitate access and participation in the academic courses and student life.
We provide services to all students with a disability, which may include, but is not limited to:
- Visual disabilities
- Hearing disabilities
- Mental Health difficulties
- Physical or mobility disabilities
- Specific Learning Difficulties, e.g. Dyslexia, Dyspraxia
- Aspergers Syndrome.
Students who have been assessed as having special needs or a disability should contact the Learning Support Office early in the academic year to discuss their individual needs and their individual support plan. Students who have not been assessed will also be able to avail of help from the Learning Support Office if they feel they are struggling with their work or any other issues. Support can be delivered on a one-to-one or group basis by appointment or drop-in. Students using the office will have access to: Computers, Printer, Photocopying, Specialised software, Internet, Help with assignments.
