WHAT IS ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE?

This one-year course introduces students to the core science modules physics, chemistry and biology along with mathematics and environmental studies. The skills and knowledge gained, while studying these subjects, will be invaluable to those seeking to pursue a career in renewable energy, environmental consultancy, waste management, wildlife trusts, nature reserves and parks. It is an excellent introduction for students who wish to progress to third level courses in this area.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates of the Environmental Science QQI Award can progress to many degree courses including Environmental Science and Environmental Health at several universities and IT’s including DCU and TU Dublin City Campus. Students can progress onto the Level 8 QQI award in Planning and Environment at TU Dublin City Campus and Sustainable Energy at TU Dublin Tallaght.

Future areas of employment can include Environmental Scientist, Environmental Engineer, Conservation, Environmental planning. Many graduates seek direct employment within the sector

• Mature students of all backgrounds
• Other equivalent qualification
