Advanced Certificate/Level 6

This award is designed to enable the successful learners to gain an in-depth understanding of the role and function of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship within an organisation and in the growing Irish and international business sector. It offers the learners the opportunity to develop effective general management skills with an understanding of the function of management within any organisation. Students all study the general business modules at Level 6 including: Business Management, Entrepreneurship, Marketing Management, Word Processing, Event Management, Communications and Work Experience.

Those who want to opt for an award at Level 6 in the tourism and business area can also study Tourism Practice and Principles as well as Hotel Reception. Those who want to opt for Equine Business can add Equine Nutrition and Stable and Yard supervision at Level 6 to their business award. On successful completion of the Advanced Certificate QQI Level 6 students can access courses in Institutes of Technology such as, Tallaght, many times at advanced entry level.

This programme offers a range of employment opportunities to pursue a career in business, finance, or management. Those opting for Tourism or Equine can also progress to third level course or employment in the tourism or equine industries with colleges seeking the higher qualification at Level 6.
