WHAT IS SPORTS MANAGEMENT AND COACHING?

This one-year course aims to prepare participants for work with people in the sports, coaching, recreation or leisure industries. Sports management and coaching graduates will gain the social, communication and leadership skills to work with individuals and groups in the growing sports coaching and health and fitness areas. Many of the skills acquired will be transferable for use in business or community development settings. Sports Management and Coaching will lay a foundation for these skills and provide the work experience to put learning into practice.

Students can also opt to specialise in GAA coaching and obtain coaching badges. This programme is ideal for both school leavers and experienced, mature persons seeking a formal education. It will allow graduates to pursue scholarship programmes in Ireland or abroad. By taking science modules, students can claim the science award and apply for Health Science in DCU.
